I’m having trouble choosing music for the reception. There are just so many songs out there and I want the perfect one. Scott and I don’t really have a song, I really wish we did because it’s killing me trying to choose a song for our first dance. I don’t want it to be too long, because we are not dancers so it will just be us turning in circles on the dance floor which is boring for everyone else to watch. I’m considering having the bridal party come in halfway through the song so it takes some attention off Scott and myself.
Here are the songs I have come up with. I found a really good website which lets you preview the songs, which I find really helpful. You can picture yourself dancing to it and decide if it will work or not.
First Dance: “We Are Man and Wife” Michelle Featherstone (You can here it here on her myspace.)
Bridal Party Dance: They will come inhalfway through our first dance song because it is a bit long, and because I gave up finding a song for them to dance to.
Father/Daughter: “You’ve Got A Friend” James Taylor
Mother/Son: “What a Wonderful World” Louis Armstrong
Cake Cutting: “Everlasting Love” Natalie Cole
Garter Toss: “Another One Bites The Dust” Queen
Bouquet Toss: “Single White Female” Chelsy Wright
The wedding is in 4 days and 23 hours.. not that I’m counting down..
1 more day of work this week and I’m free, to do all the last minute planning I need to do.

a great first dance song is ” Making Memories of us ” by Keith Urban.
and a great father daughter dance is ” I loved her first” by heartland ( can be found on youtube.
I always said that if Tim and I get married then I want our first song to be Feels Like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk, but then I found out it is probably the most overused first wedding song … but I am not sure if I care! I love it.
Whenever I think of first dance songs, it always reminds me of The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez, when they judge how long the marriage will last depending on the first dance song that they choose. Suprisingly, I think about that a lot.
Not to put the pressure on or anything …

I like that Chantal song but I sang that at an audition once and now thats all I think of when I hear the song.
I worked at a golf course for 4 weddings and Feels Like Home was the 1st dance song for 2 of the 4.
Ohh and my friend Karen’s sister is getting married and her and her fiance are 2 stepping to Firecracker which I think is AWESOME!!

If Scott learned how to 2-step for me I would love him forever, even more then I do now.
I love Feels like home, and I have always thought I want to walk down the aisle to that song when we get married. Ryan and I’s song is ‘My Best Friend’ by Tim McGraw, and that will definitly be our first dance! But anything by Tim McGraw is wonderful to me! I love the newer song with him and Faith ‘I need you’ I don’t know if its perfect for a wedding, but i Love it! I am getting excited for SATURDAY KATE!!! I can’t wait!
I said that I liked the My Best Friend one but for some reason we decided against it.
I gave Kent a little test tonight and asked him what song he would pick and apparently he has it all picked out: Harvest Moon by Neil Young.
